Create a bee -friendly garden

In the Netherlands we see more and more paving in gardens and melliferous plants for bees disappear, on the other hand, create a by-friendly garden!

Fortunately, there is also an awareness of the usefulness of honey bees and solitary bees such as the Mason bee for pollination of flowers and crops. Do you make your garden bee-friendly?

Research into pollination

Research showed that with a single visit to an apple tree flower from a bee, the pollination increases by 15% and after five visits the pollination chance increases to 40% to get a nice big apple?

Is there no insect at all? Then the apple tree can pollinate itself, resulting in a small apple (not entirely what we want of course).

What can you do in your own bee-friendly garden?

Do you also want to contribute to food for honey bees and solitary bees?

Then below I have a list of bee-friendly flowers for the garden:

  • Berganie
  • Bio Buckwheat
  • Honey clover
  • Phacelia
  • Yellow Mustard
  • Lucerne
  • Reseda
  • Esparcette
  • Bio Tübinger mixture
  • Bio Incarnate clover
  • Seradelle
  • Zeeland Floral mixture
